What are the chances that hundreds of years prior to your birth, people would be talking about you?
But not just talking about you, unpacking specific details about your life:
where you would be born
to whom you would be born
what people would call you
what you would do
how you would die
I'd say the chances were one to the power of A LOT! Yet, the Old Testament is full of prophecies that speak about the birth, the life and the death of Jesus.
The arrival of Jesus was not by chance. Instead, it was part of the Father's divine plan of redemption that existed before the very beginning of time. Why? Because of His love for mankind! He loves us so much that He orchestrated a rescue mission so that all mankind could find their way back to Him.
Isaiah 53 (MSG)
"the fact is, it was our pains he carried-
our disfigurements, all the things wrong with us.
We thought he brought it on himself,
that God was punishing him for his own failures.
But it was our sins that did that to him,
that ripped and tore and crushed him- our sins!
He took the punishment, and that made us whole.
